FAQ
Common questions, answered.
- Q: Which operating systems and plugin formats are supported?
-
A: The supported operating systems and plugin formats are as follows:
- Formats: VST3 / AU
- macOS: 14+ (Intel / Apple Silicon native)
- Q: I'm unsure if it will work on my system (OS / DAW).
A: Although this plugin has been tested on major DAWs (such as Logic Pro), compatibility with every possible combination of OS and host software cannot be guaranteed. To ensure the best experience, please download and try the free version on your system before making a purchase.
- Q: In GarageBand, the on-screen keyboard suddenly makes no sound. What happened?
A: Some hosts, including GarageBand, pause instrument plugins when nothing is playing and no notes arrive for a while. While paused, the dish keeps living but no sound can be produced, and the dish shows “Sound paused by the host”. The on-screen keyboard and the dish cannot wake the host, so play a note from a MIDI keyboard or the piano roll, press Play, or select another track and come back. Your cells and settings are kept.
- Q: Is it natively compatible with Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3, etc.) Macs?
A: Yes, it is natively compatible with Apple Silicon processors.
- Q: What are the limitations of the free version?
-
A: There is only one limitation:
- Rare cell generation is disabled: Rare cells interact (morph) with each other to create more complex sounds. This feature is exclusive to the full version.
Everything else works as in the full version, including user presets, saving in DAW projects, and the statistics shown via the Chart button. There are no time limits, no periodic noise, no silencing, and no restrictions on offline rendering.
- Q: What are the conditions for rare cells to appear?
A: Stirring the dish a few times once a day makes good things more likely to happen. In other words, it gives you a reason to open your project every day and sit down with your music.
- Q: Where are the plugins installed?
-
A: The plugins are installed in the following default system directories:
- macOS (AU):
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Expetri.component - macOS (VST3):
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Expetri.vst3
